This viking woman sobs tearfully at her sword, bruised and bloodied by the torments of battle. She is covered in filth and grime. Her light hair falls in locks around her shoulders. Each detail of this image is carefully placed and the model is a fine actress. We can sense that this woman has just avenged many of her fellow vikings, many of whom have fallen to the great battles of the night.
Viking Woman Overlooking the Remains of a Great Battle
This is a piece by Rebecca Magar and intends to portray a Valkyrie similar to the one portrayed by Tessa Thompson inĀ Thor: Ragnarok. We love the somewhat impressionistic style of this piece, with smooth lines and excellent blending of colors. The viking woman’s golden hair stands out against the dark sky while accentuating the sun above.

Viking Stalks Another in Battle
We love the ferocity in the eyes of the center viking as he slaughters his enemies in battle. However, in the bottom left corner stands a bystander who watches on. Though we cannot see his face, there is the sense that he stares on with a strange mix of both horror and cruel fascination.
Viking Woman Looking Down
We loved the character development in this female viking. Looking in her downcast eyes, you can tell she holds a dark and complex history. We also believe the fire in the corner, and the blustering winds surrounding her, indicate she may be in the midst of a battle.

Viking With One Eye Missing
We loved the look of determination in the eyes (or “eye”) of this virile viking. We also loved the look of bright lights swarming around him, which could be the ashes of the trees burning in the background or a metaphor for a deeper lighthearted quality within his spirit.
